Michelle Phan - Honest, Elegant and Artistic.
This is how Michelle Phan describes her videos. However these three words also describe this Vietnamese beauty who started to teach herself how to paint at the age of 12. Exchanging her paintbrushes for her make-up brushes, she went from being a girl who wanted to help women look the most beautiful to gracing the covers of several magazines and becoming a spokesperson for Lancome.
Her initial plan of taking up dermatology, a request of her mother, was pushed aside by her determination to major in illustration. Michelle inspires women to not only be beautiful but also follow their dreams. On her ‘about me’ section in her YouTube channel, she describes her dreams:
“To help women empower themselves with this art, makeup. Believe it or not, you can transform your life with one lipstick. Women have stronger careers, future and self esteem when they feel confident and beautiful.”
From joining YouTube in 2006 to a known make-up guru around the world, Michelle is the perfect example of a confident and beautiful woman who has a career she can be proud of. She travels around the world, doing what she loves most: creating masterpieces on people’s faces and sharing these to the world.
